He avers that problems caused by the past war have made it imperative for the party to reassess its principles and policies. Part of his speech deals with need for a new leader, another part deals with the peril of communism and of possibilities of further world disruption. He speaks of freedom, security and the lack of fear in Canada, and of hope for the future. Shots of ovation from VIP's on platform and from the crowd.
