[Remark: the Skeena River which drains the rugged upper portion of British Columbia has of late replaced the mighty Fraser as the greatest salmon river in the world.] PAN of river and of mountainous shores. Shots of trawler, several small boats tied to it, of "train" of boats as it heads for the fishing grounds. Shots of the boats and their occupants from trawler. Shot of small boats breaking away from the low-line and hoist sail for their particular fishing spots, drift gill nets being lowered into water. Various shots of boats. When nets are full they are hauled in and emptied of fish. Shot of one of the twelve large canneries on the shores of Skeena River, of men working on nets. Shot of salmon being delivered to cannery. Interior shots of men at work in factory cutting fish head, removing backbone, mild curring some of the fish, and packing it in large barrels. Shots of barrels being loaded on freighter, of freighter sailing away.
