Opening of Parliament, House of Commons, 10/14/1957: HAS of House of Commons, empty for a small group of officials near the speaker's chair, of Members of Parliament drifting in, shaking hands, chatting, of House with Members of Parliament occupying their seats. Various shots of full House with Members of Parliament applauding, of the front of the House with speaker Michener in the chair and with one of the clerks reading a paper. The mace bearer is shown, still from the same angle and distance, taking the mace out from under the table and putting it on top of the table, signifying in this way that the House is officially in session.
