[Remark: first east-west transatlantic crossing. Baron Guenther von Huenefeld, piloted by German Capt. Hermann Koehl and Irish Captain James Fitzmaurice, left Dublin for New York City (12/04/1928) in a single-engine all-metal Junkers monoplane. Some 37 hours later, they crashed on Greely Island, Labrador. Rescued.] Chicago greets Bremen Flyers (00/04/1928): shot of huge crowd waiting to greet heroes of flight from Dublin to Greely Island on foggy day. Shots of Junkers plane landing, taxiing, of Major Fitzmaurice, Baron Huenefeld and Captain Koehl being greeted, driving off in limousine.
