Young Canadian dancers capture the glamor and excitement of the ballet of Canada's first national Ballet Festival. From hectic last-minute preparations backstage to the triumphant fall of the final curtain, the film recreates the thrill of this landmark in Canada's dancing history. The camera lingers over several gay and imaginative performances: Ottawa dancers in "Les Sylphides", and two entirely Canadian works, "Visages" with the Winnipeg Ballet and "Red Ear of Corn" with Toronto's Volkoff Company.
