VAR (MCU MS LA) A small Japanese giant hornet (Vespa mandarinia japonica) nest is partially filled with larvae and pupae. It hangs from ceiling of underground burrow. One or two hornets hang from nest, look after and feed young, rest just inside outer wall, groom themselves or interact to pass something between each other.
