LAS of Red Ensign with Union Jack and armories on it being lowered down mast on dais. Cut to and ZOOM IN on another red ensign being lowered elsewhere on Parliament Hill. Cut back to LS of dais. Cut to closer shots of army, navy and airforce non-commissioned officers march away past Vice Regal party and into centre block. Cut away to guards at attention. Back to dais as three non-commissioned officers march back carrying folded Maple Leaf flag. The three men unfold flag as mountie (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) stands by at mast. Slightly longer shots as group holds flag spread out while officers read passages from a book. Cut away to Governor General Vanier. Cut back to flag party as reading ends and mountie begins hoisting flag. Cut to and ZOOM IN on flag being raised elsewhere on the Parliament Hill. Crowd in lower foreground.
