Opening of a ski-troop school in Valcartier: shots of Brigadier Vanier arriving at Valcartier administration, of Brigadier saluting, of the Union Jack at top of mast. Several shots of white-clad ski-troops moving through snowy countryside. Cut to inspection by Brigadier Vanier and other officers. Shots of Vanier sampling tea brewed over open fire, of several ski-troopers coming out of bunker on the double, cut to them having tea under canvas shelter. Ski-troops, numbering about 60 so far, have been recruited from the Royal 22e Régiment and are commanded by Lieutenant Robert Rochon.
