VARIOUS SHOTS of “ranchos” (shanty towns) in Caracas, the capital city of Venezuela, made up mostly of one-room structures built with salvaged materials. The ranchos are surrounded by large residential buildings and major arteries. A child goes to throw garbage in a large barrel. Some ranchos lie in ruins beside an imposing church and pretty Spanish-style houses.
