VARIOUS SHOTS, Port Alfred. The royal yacht Britannia docks in the rain with Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, on an official visit to Canada, abord. On the yacht’s prow flies the flag of Great Britain, on the mainmast fly the Queen’s colours, and on the rear mast, the Canadian flag. Various docking maneuvers are shown, while a sodden photographer tries to do his work. Officials watch on under their umbrellas. A fanfare plays aboard the Britannia. The gangway is deployed. The queen and Prince Philip disembark. They are greeted by Antonio Talbot, Minister of Roads for the Province of Quebec, and by the mayors of Port Alfred and Bagotville and their spouses. A young girl bows and offers a bouquet to the queen, who accepts it with a smile. The Cadillac bearing the royal colours passes by and drives off. It is preceded and followed by an escort of Royal Canadian Mounted Police motorcyclists.
