VARIOUS SHOTS filmed in the kitchen of the Trappist Monastery Our Lady of the Prairies in Holland, Manitoba. A monk prepares various foods for the order’s meals. He dries and puts away dishes that he has washed. He places a platter of food in a dumbwaiter and presses a switch. He busies himself around the many pots on the stove. He removes a platter loaded with portions of fruit from a huge refrigerator. Two monks and the novice, Brother Angelo, do the dishes. One washes, one rinses, and the other dries. Another monk comes to help with drying.
