In the sacristy of the chapel, the monks don their robes for the mass and the novice, Brother Angelo, comes to get a missal. At the back of the chapel, a monk rings the bell to call the monks to prayer, pulling hard and rhythmically on a long rope. The monks and the novice pray in the choir. The priests, wearing their mass vestments, enter the chapel while the monk rings the bell. The Abbot, Dom Marcel Charbotte, is recognizable by his wooden crozier. The monks bow before the altar and take their places. A monk reads a religious text. After finishing ringing the bell, the monk takes his place, making the sign of the cross.
