Sequence on cattle being herded across prairie wich has become a sand desert. MS of cowboy looking at roots of tree bared by erosion. MS of victim of sandstorm being carried into hospital. Interior HAS of emergency ward, MSs of nurses taking care of victims. MS of nurse helping children fitting masks to combat storms, PAN of group of children wearing masks. Shots of dust storm, LS of dried earth. Sequence in dehydrated farmland, farmer ploughing field with horse-drawn plough, CU of dried earth in farmer's hands. MSs of woman pumping water from well, horses and sheep being watered, woman in doorway sweeping sand from house. Final sequence on violent hail storm, huge stones on ground and in man's hands.
